Fr. Sebastian Muggeridge

My name is Fr. Sebastian, and I was ordained a priest with the Companions of the Cross this past May 24th. Although I grew up Catholic I had a deeper conversion to my faith through Catholic Christian Outreach. An old roommate of mine, now Fr. Marc-Andre Veselovsky, who was ordained two weeks apart from me, invited me to go on a fall retreat with CCO in Sept 2013 where I returned to the sacrament of reconciliation. That night I invited Jesus to be the center of my life for the first time. It was over the course of a few months that I started to get back into my faith, which included attending Rise Up in Ottawa for the first time. It was amazing to see so many young men and women living their faith. Fr. Marc-andre and a friend of his challenged me to join them in a 40-day prayer challenge. This is where I first learned how to build a habit of prayer, and I haven’t stopped since! This eventually led me to discern a vocation to the priesthood, and here I am a decade later! I’ve now been to Rise Up 6 times, and God always does something amazing in my life each time I attend.
