James Reichert

Raised in a Catholic household, my spiritual life felt a bit more handed down than a lived reality for many years. Although I was familiar with the liturgy and recited the prayers, I had yet to experience the profundity of a personal conviction.

My perspective shifted during my time at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Immersed in a community where faith was a non-negotiable. I began to encounter the Lord as a living Person I actually WANTED to know.

Following graduation, I transitioned into the world of mission-focused technology, eventually joining the team at Hallow and marrying the love of my life. This was the period where my faith blossomed into something tangible.

This journey brought its share of trials - and was when I was told about this preproduct concept called Cana. We envisioned a platform for couples who desired a Christ-centered marriage, not just a beautiful ceremony. Through seasons of fatigue and uncertainty, our commitment to serving these couples kept us trudging forward.

Since our launch in September 2025, thousands of couples have utilized Cana to prepare for their shared lives in Christ. This is where I want to shout out the (small but mighty) Cana team, who really made this product what it is.

Now, as a husband and an expectant father, I am discovering the real meanings of surrender and trust. Fatherhood is refining my understanding of what it means to be a man of God. Though I am still so far from the man I want to be, I am certain that we are called to live with intentionality, strength, and joy - becoming the men the world needs by embracing the purpose for which we were created.
