Fr. Isaac Longworth
I was born and raised in Canada to a wonderful Catholic family. Since the age of seven, I felt God’s call to become a priest, but didn’t know exactly what that would look like. At the age of nine, I met a priest from the Companions of the Cross, who changed my life and inspired the direction of my vocation. Later on in my early teens I began to live a double-life, and out of shame due to sin, I began to lie anytime that I went to the Sacrament of Confession. For years I hid from God and others, because I believed a lie that told me: “If people truly knew me, they would not be able to love me.” However, after my first year of university, I was truly convicted to make a change and made an honest confession after many years of self-deception. In that moment, I experienced the mercy of Jesus and His unconditional love for me in a way that completely changed my life.
Due to the freedom that I began to experience in Jesus, I was able to more clearly discern a call to the priesthood and eventually I was accepted to seminary with the Companions of the Cross when I was nineteen. I began to be formed in their mission to evangelize continually, in the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit, with the support of a close-knit brotherhood. I was then ordained a priest in 2023.
During my time of ministry with the Companions of the Cross, I have seen the power of God on display. Whether I am doing anti-abortion outreach, street evangelization, leading healing services, working for unity among Christians, or helping parishes to grow in their missionary identity, I consistently see lives being changed by the Good News of Jesus Christ. I firmly believe that the Holy Spirit wants to bring a New Pentecost to the Church in our day. He wants to unleash His charisms and gifts on all believers to empower them to share the Gospel not just with words, but in signs and wonders that will back up the preaching of the message.
Currently I am serving as the Vocations Director for my community, as well as hosting a podcast on the lives of the saints called “Heroes of the Faith”. I want to see the Catholic Church become explosively alive, and am passionate about what I see God doing to make that happen!
